George the Gorger

This is the not so epic tale of George the Gorger.

George is what you would call worthless.  Every time i field him, he finds a way to get himself killed without earning his points back.  This is where I am going to keep the running tally of what George does(or doesn't) do in combat.

Game 1 vs Warriors (trolls) of Chaos:  George came in Turn 4, joined a combat with unit of Bulls vs some trolls.  Wounds caused 0.  Points earned 0. Survived 1 round of combat.

Game 2 vs Empire:  George came in on turn 2.  Took 2 grapeshots to the face.  Wounds caused 0.  Points earned 0.  Didn't get to move an inch.

Game 3 vs Orcs and Goblins :  George comes onto the board Turn 3.  Charges into rock lobber crew. On turn 6 dies... still in combat with rock lobber crew.  Wounds caused 1.  Points earned back 0.

George goes a Tournament

Round 1 Game 4 vs Orcs and Goblins:  George comes onto the board turn 2.  I put him behind 3 units of goblins to draw out all 9 of the fanatics.  He dies, however, he managed to get 3 of the fanatics to run through him and off the board edge.  Wounds caused 0.  Points earned 0.  (I still consider this a victory for George even though he technically earned back 0 points.

Round 2 Game 5 vs Warriors of chaos - Comes on turn 3.  George charged into a chaos sorceror on a Manticore. He attacked the Lord.  Survived 2 rounds of combat. Caused 1 Wound, Points earned 0.
Round 3 Game 6 vs Orcs and Goblins - Comes onto the board turn 2 next to 2 bolt throwers.  Charges the first bolt thrower, after 2 rounds of combat GEORGE WINS! The 2nd bolt thrower, seeing what happened to their friend, turns and lets loose a bolt into George.  George is skewered.  Points earned 35.

Round 4 Game 7 vs Orcs and Goblins - George comes onto the board turn 3.  The game was mostly over at this point and one of the few things left near a table edge was a unit of wolf light cav.  He failed his roll to charge.  After that the light cav just kept running in circles around him, refusing to fight... even after I explained how awful george is in combat.

Game 8 vs Dwarfs -  George shows up turn 3.  He charges into a rear of a unit of dwarf warriors already in combat with some bulls.  George misses EVERY attack roll, the bulls then wiped out the unit completely so he didn't even contribute to the combat resolution.  3 cannons pointed and fired at George, 1st cannon misfires, 2nd cannon hits, but doesn't kill. 3rd cannon explodes George.  0 wounds caused.  0 points earned.

Game 9 vs 2 Orc armies - Doubles game 2 Ogre players vs 2 Orc and goblin players.  George shows up turn 3.  3 bolt throwers shot at him and wiffed.  George charged a doom diver takes them out and overruns into a bolt thrower and then wipes them out.  George survived the game!  Points earned 115.... however, George did manage to fall off the table and onto the floor.  Time to get out the superglue.

Game 10  vs Vampire counts - George decides not to show up till turn 5 and once turn 6 rolls around it's time for him to earn some glory and do a rear charge into a combat and save his brethren who were already in combat.  Needs a 4 to charge.  4.   FUCKING SNAKE EYES!  Classic George right there... did absolutely NOTHING.

The journey continues......

  1. Impressive... seems like Games Workshop has several types of creatures like this for every army. He looks cool... guess that's all he has going for him; being a pin cushion and diverting attacks that would be leveled at other units.

  2. Haha... nice. My gorger is the opposite of George - he is an overachiever I think.

In a recent battle where a Dwarf lord had held up my bulls for 3 rounds (killing my tyrant in the process), my gorger rolled 2 hits against that guy, then rolled 2 6's for killing blows. He failed 1 of his ward saves giving me the minor victory...

I guess I need to name my gorger now.
